Sariska is town situated in north-west Rajasthan and 35 km away from Alwar City, located in the backdrop of Aravalli Range. Sariska is one of the major travel destination of India and famous for its National Park, Hindu Temple, majestic Fort and exquisite Sariska Palace. Sariska Wildlife Park plays an important role in the enhancement of Tourism in Rajasthan. Sariska was once the royal hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Alwar. In 1955, Sariska was affirmed as a wildlife sanctuary and in 1979 it was declared as a National Park or Tiger Reserve.
Along with the Bengal tiger the reserve houses many species of wild life, such as the Indian Leopard, Jungle cat, Caracal, Striped hyena, Indian jackal, Chital, sambhar, nilgai and so manu other. The Sariska Tiger Reserve is a part of the Aravalli Range and rich in mineral resources, such as copper.
