Ellora Temple or Kailasanatha temple is one of the largest Rock-cut ancient Hindu Temples situated in Ellora of Maharashtra State of India. It is one of the most magnificent and memorable cave temples due to its appearance, fantastic architecture and Sculpture carvings. Construction of temple is dated back to 8th century and attributed to Rashtrakuta King Krishna I. Temple boasts traces of Pallava and Chalukya architectural style. Kaiasanatha Temple is one of the caves amongst 32 caves of Ellora. Kailasa temple has a courtyard that is U-shaped where you can see structures of god and goddess, on the sculpted side panels. There is also an idol of Nandi bull, in front of the Shiva Lingam, in the main courtyard. Another brilliant idol is of Ravana, lifting the Mount Kailas, with Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva seated on a throne. There are five detached shrines in the temple premises, three of these are dedicated to the River goddesses- Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Temple completes with intricate pillars, windows, inner and outer rooms, gathering halls, and an enormous stone lingam at centre.

Ellora caves are one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple caves complexes in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ellora Caves monuments are consists of artwork of Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism from the 600-1000 CE period. These extravagant structures were carved during the rule of Kalachuri, Rashtrakuta and Chalukya dynasties.
