Gokarna is prominent pilgrimage site in the city well-known for its Beaches and Temples. Gokarna features pristine and breathtaking beaches, amongst all beaches the more famous is Om beach naturally Om-shaped beach which offers various water sports activities. Gokarna’s main temple and deity is Lord Shiva, who is also known as Mahabaleshwara. This temple houses original image of Lord Shiva's linga. There are many other temples in this town.
