Madikeri Fort is splendid Fort located in Coorg city of Karnataka Indian State. Madikeri Fort was constructed by Mudduraja in the second half of the 17th century. He built a palace inside the fort. This was rebuilt with granite by Tipu Sultan who named the site as Jaffarabad. Madikeri Deputy Commissioner's Office is located inside the Madikeri Fort complex. At the entrance there are two life size masonry elephants and a church is present other corner.
Church building houses a museum, which consists of several items related to ancient era and it also has a huge portrait of Kodagu's eminent personality Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa. The Church was closed after Indian independence, and taken over by the Government of Karnataka in 1971. The building now houses the Madikeri Fort Museum.
