Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest National Parks in northern India, situated in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Ranthambore National Park is around 140 km away from the Jaipur and 110 km from the Kota. In earlier days it was famous and former hunting ground of Maharajas of Jaipur and now it is a major wildlife tourist attraction point from 1955 onwards and was declared one of the Tiger Reserves in 1973. Spread over vast area of 392 sq. km and bounded by Banas River and Chambal River.

Ranthambore is best known for Tigers and their large populations, tigers can be easily spotted in National Park.

Other major wild animals include leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, striped hyena, sloth bear, southern plains gray langur, rhesus macaque and chital. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles
