Bappa Rawal was the founder of Sisodia Clan, he and its descendants ruled the Chittorgarh till the 16th century. In the 15th century, the place was ruled by Maurya Rajputs and remained a capital of Mewar till 1568 AD and then shifted their capital to Udaipur.
