Akshardham is abiding place of worship, devotion, peace and purity situated in New Delhi. It is spiritual house of Hindu devotion giving Tribute to Swaminarayan. The complex was opened on 6 November 2005 by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The complex features an Abhisheka Mandap, Mandir, Sahaj Anand water show, a thematic garden and three exhibitions namely Sahajanand Darshan, Neelkanth Darshan and Sanskruti Darshan.
• Akshardham Mandir - it is the main attraction of Akshardham, which is splendidly carved with flora, fauna, dancers, musicians and deities. Temple is 43 m high, 96 m wide and 109 m long comprising 234 intricate carved pillars, nine domes and 20,000 murtis.
• Sahajanand Darshan - hall of values showcases portraying messages of Swaminarayan’s life incidents such as importance of peace, harmony, humility, service to others and devotion to God.
• Nilkanth Darshan - it is theator which shows 40-minutes short movie on the early life of Swaminarayan as the teenage yogi.
• Sanskruti Darshan - boat ride is 15-minutes journey of 10,000-years old glory with life-size depicting figures, it shows the contribution of Vedic Indians to various fields.
• Musical fountain - it is India’s largest step well with a series of steps down to Yagna Kund. Musical fountain show is representing the circle of life played to an audience which is seated on the same steps.
• Garden of India - it is manicured garden with green lawns, trees and shrubs. It has bronze sculptures of Indian culture and history.
Other features of Akshardham are Yogi Hraday Kamal, Nilkanth Abhishek, Narayan Sarovar, Premvati Ahargurh and AARSH centre.
