Haveli is common name used for traditional dwelling and mansion with historical and architectural significance. Jaisalmer has witnessed many Havelis and which feature different types of architecture like Rajputana and Islamic. All the Havelis are made of yellow sandstone and have beautifully carved facades and beautiful windows. The most famous Havelis are -

• Nathmal Ki Haveli - was constructed in 19th century by two brothers in two sections left & right wings both were similarly carved. The stunning yellow sandstone Elephants seeks attention at the entrance.

• Patwon Ki Haveli - situated in the centre of the city Jaisalmer, famous apartments for murals built with brocade, gold and silver embroidery of past time. Haveli is a collection of 5 small Havelis with wonderful architecture.

• Salim Singh Ki Haveli - built in 1815, attractive for its unique architecture based on Peacock and some part of this Haveli is still used as residence. It was owned by Salim Singh, former Prime Minister of Jaisalmer State and hence named after him.
