Junagarh Fort in Bikaner, Rajasthan

Junagarh Fort is magnificent Fort located in Bikaner city of Rajasthan. Fort is one of the major Forts in Rasjasthan which is not built on Hilltop. Earlier the Fort is known as Chintamani and in 20th century Junagarh Fort name is given by ruling family. The fort is constructed under supervision of Karan Chand, during 1589 to 1593 AD. Junagarh Fort later on became the most tranquil example of architecture and great center of Art. The Fort complex is built from red sandstone and marble showcasing medieval architecture and glorious interior. The Junagarh Fort comes with exclusive courtyards, balconies, kiosks and windows.

Karan Mahal - this is lavish Palace built with lush gardens depicting Royalty of Rajasthani sensibility.

Phool Mahal - is the oldest part of the Fort built by King Raja Rai Singh of Bikaner.

Anup Mahal - is a multi-storey structure, which functioned as the administrative headquarters of the kingdom.

Chandra Mahal - is a gorgeous & luxurious room which houses gold plated deities and paintings inlaid with precious stones.

Ganga Mahal - is large Durbar Hall which is converted as Museum that houses many exclusive things of that old time like weapons, costumes, paintings, jewels, etc.

Badal Mahal - this Palace has Paintings of Shekhawati Dundlod.

Bikaneri Havelis - it has unique architecture and situated both within and outside the Fort.

Junagarh Fort is one of the finest destinations of Rajasthan and visited by many tourists. The timings of Fort are 9 am to 5 pm.
