Tribal Museum is situated in Bhopa city of Madhya Pradesh state of India. Museum depicts world of indigenous tribes with finest authentic skills and artifacts. It was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee last year. Museum showcases historical and cultural narratives showing different feature of tribes inhabiting the state of Madhya Pradesh and exhibiting the relevance of different cultures, customs and rituals of indigenous peoples such as the Gonds, Bharias, Korku, Sahariya, Bhil, Baiga and Kol.
The well planned campus is divided into 6 galleries :-
• Gallery 1 - shows the cultural diversity of various tribes in Madhya Pradesh and adjoining states.
• Gallery 2 - shows day to day life of tribals, their houses, how they live in them.
• Gallery 3 - is all about the art and culture of tribal life.
• Gallery 4 - is dedicated to mythological beliefs of tribes.
• Gallery 5 - is made for guest state and currently exibits details about tribals of Chattisgarh.
• Gallery 6 - is for showcasing the various games children of these tribes plays.
Every art work has some meaning to it which is beautifully depicted in sculpted and styled elements given by artists and craftsmen belonging to remote corners of the state. It also has Art Exibition Gallery and Open Air Theatre. Museum is open from 12 pm to 8 pm and remains closed on Monday and on state holidays.
