Bada Bagh is located 6 km away from the Jaisalmer city on Ramgarh Road and point of attraction of tourists for its Gardens and Cenotaphs. Bada Bagh means Big garden which was founded by Maharawal Jagal Singh in early 16th century and completed by his son LunaKaran. It exhibits a collection of regal cenotaphs (chhatris) of Former Maharajas of Jaisalmer state.

The place commissioned a dam to create a water tank during this region and this made Desert green in this area. Later on LunaKaran built sprawling garden next to the Lake. After death of his father he constructed cenotaph on a hill adjacent to Lake and later on many more cenotaphs were constructed.
