This short trip is planned specially for the travelers willing to visit the Taj Mahal and at the same time they are interested in exploring the culture and feudal life of the Rajasthan. This travel itinerary includes visit to the Shekhawati region known for its semi desertic countrysides and very beautiful havelis of the wealthy merchants of the olden times. A visit to the Samode village along with one night stay in the Royal Palace will give you a glimpse of the life in the village of Rajasthan as well as the Royal comforts of the rulers of the medieval times. Time to relax and refreshen yourself for your travel to the land of heritage and culture.
Nothing is planned for this day but your chauffeur and guide will to at your disposal. If desired they will take you for a short visit of the Delhi.
Night stay at New Delhi.
After the breakfast drive to Mandawa.
Enter into the region of Shekhawati. You will drive across the semi desetic countrysides to reach Mandawa, located on the border of Thar desert and Shekhawati.
Here you will stay in feudal castle (Castle Mandawa), once a center of power for this area.
In the afternoon visit the Havelis of the wealthy merchants (most of them are abandoned and only visited by the tourists). The havelis have very fine carving work and fresco wall paintings.
Watch the sunset from the dunes located on the outskirts of Mandawa. You can also have camel ride here.
Night stay in castle at Mandawa.
Today you will drive to yet another important and most famous destination of the Shekhawati region, Samode.
Foremerly before the independence Samode was known as the treasure house of the Rajputana.
The Palace of Samode is very beautifully built and now it provided with all the modern luxury amenities making it one of the most sought accommodation choice for the tourist visiting Rajasthan.
You will visit the village of samode.
Night stay in Samode Palace.
After the breakfast drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and is also named as Pink city (owing to the pink colour of the corridors of the markets primarily to welcome th British prince and the tradition is still followed).
Chek in at your hote. In the afternoon you will visit the city of Jaipur and its traditional markets.
Night stay in Jaipur.
No long drives today. You will visit the monuments of Jaipur.
In the morning you will visit the Amber fort. Here you can mount on the elephant back to reach the fort on the hill.
Visit the palace of the Maharaja of Jaipur.
See the exterior of the Hawa Mahal (palace of winds).
You can opt for a day with the elephants. You will spend 4 to 5 hours with elephants. Also there will be safari on elephant back in the nearby jungle.
You can watch bollywood movie.
Night stay in Jaipur.
On the way to Agra you will visit the Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Once the capital of Mughal empire, was later abandoned due to the scarcity of water. Still you will find most of the buildings in perfect shape.
At Agra you can enjoy a ride in Tonga (Horse cart) across the old streets.
In the evening you can watch the Kalakriti show (live show depicting the history of the Taj Mahal).
Night stay in Agra.
The best time to visit the Taj mahal is during the sunrise. Visit this most beautiful monument. And yes, please check the memory of your camera before leaving from hotel.
You will also vist the Red fort of Agra and the tomb of Itimad-ud-daula .
Afternoon drive to New Delhi. Evening free at your hotel or you can visit the local markets.
Night stay in New Delhi.
Depending on the schedule of your return flight a short visit of the monuments of the Delhi can be planned before the departure to the airport.
You will be transferred to the international airport of New Delhi for your return flight. Your 8 days tour package for visiting Taj Mahal and traditional places of Rajasthan terminates here.
