New Delhi :: Junction of Indian Culture

Delhi is National Capital of India and also known as Heart of India. City is famous for its Historical culture and heritage which transports us to the past bygone era time. The city is believed to be the site of Indraprastha, the legendary capital of the Pandavas in the Indian epic Mahabharata. The city is bisected in Old Delhi and New Delhi.

Old Delhi has many old stories to tell with its heritage sites such as Red Fort, Mosques, gardens and other monuments. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan founded Old Delhi in 1639 which was earlier known as Shahjahanbad, Mughals built many places and mansions in Delhi. Old Delhi has market such as chawri Bazaar, khari Baoli, etc. As the area of city was not much large it becomes densely populated.
After the fall of Mughal Emperor Edwin Lutyen’s Delhi was founded near Old Delhi and it was considered as seat of National Government, officially inaugurated in 1931. New Delhi houses many major tourist destinations and commercial hubs, and still developing with the passage of Time.
